After spending a week in Anchorage, enjoying this lovely city and its
surroundings, the Alaska State Fair and most especially the amazing
hospitality of our hosts Everett and Linda, we're joining them on a
week-long visit to their place at Wild Lake, in the Brooks Range,
which involves us driving (in four-wheeled vehicles this time) to
Fairbanks, traversing the Haul Road adjacent the Alaskan Pipeline (a
stretch of road made famous by the documentary TV show "Ice Road
Truckers") to an (aptly-named, I'm sure) spot called Coldfoot, then
flying in with a bush pilot from there.
An unplanned adventure, but one we're both excited about, for both of
us, our first foray north of the Arctic Circle!
More news and photos when we return...
Can't wait. I wonder, are the mozzies as big as bears up there?
